In Memory of Doowop Cafe Founders, DJ's and Supporters

CIRCE In loving memory of our founder, Barbara Ann Yatsko, aka "CIRCE”, who passed on May 17, 2006 after fighting cancer. She was 63 years old. Barbara Ann started the doowopcafe on September 8, 2001, along with BIGJACK, WOODY, RENEE, and others. In June of 2002 Barbara Ann hosted the first of 4 annual doowop weekends in North Jersey, in conjunction with Ronnie I's UGHA shows. The friday night party in the hotel consisted of dinner with contests, prizes, and lots of singing. Saturday night everyone attended Ronnie I's live doowop show. Barbara Ann was a wonderful person, loved by those who knew her. The doowopcafe remains, to this day, in her honor. She will forever remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.

WOODY On February 23, 2021 the doowopcafe lost our last remaining original owner, dear friend, mentor, technical guru, and DJ. David Woodring (aka WOODY) passed away in his sleep. Woody was one of the original founding members of the cafe, along with Jack Mizzer and the late Barbara Ann Yasko. He was also a great DJ, spinning his "Woody's Goodies" every sunday night until his failing eyesight caused him to stop DJ'ing. For a while he used to build computers for our listeners and DJs who needed them. Anytime there was a problem Woody was there to fix it. Needless to say, we will miss him. Rest in peace, Woody.

RhythmDuke The doowopcafe has lost a legend. Billy Gore (aka RhythmDuke) has passed away at the age of 85 due to complications from a fall and he will be greatly missed. Duke was here since the cafe's early stages in 2001. It was a rare occasion not to see him in the chatroom and he was always there to lend a hand if another DJ couldn't broadcast. If a new DJ came on board and didn't have a lot of tunes they would send a flash drive to Duke and he would fill it with tunes and send it back to them. He was always willing to share the music with anyone who wanted it. Needless to say, the cafe won't be the same without him. He was a wonderful person and a great friend who loved the music and the cafe and was loved by us all.
